Terms of use for downloads

Version 1.2, 26 October 2026. Generated from tools/downloads/terms.mjs; the same text is inside every download.

Information only. These files are general information and a template. They are not legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, insurance, security or compliance advice, and not a certification or audit. They come as they are, with no warranty, and may be wrong or out of date. Publishing them is not a recommendation to give an AI agent access to a bank account. You are responsible for your use and your decisions. To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for loss or damage arising from them.

1. What the downloads are

The files on nullfte.com/downloads/ are general information and templates. They are there to help you think through a topic and organise your own decisions. They are not legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, insurance, security, audit or compliance advice. They are not a certification, an audit, an opinion or any kind of assurance, and nobody should read them as saying that a system, a person or an organisation meets any law, standard or contract.

2. No advice, no relationship

Publishing these files is not advice to you. They do not take your circumstances into account, and they create no adviser–client, attorney–client, fiduciary or other professional relationship and no duty of care towards you. Whether any point applies to you, and what to do about it, is for you and your own qualified advisers, for example a lawyer, an auditor, your bank and your insurer.

3. No recommendation

Publishing these files is not a recommendation to give an AI agent access to a bank account or to any other asset. An agent with access to money can cause loss, some of it permanent. Whether to do it, and with what access, is your decision.

4. No warranty

The files are provided as they are and as available, free of charge. To the fullest extent the law allows, I make no promise or warranty of any kind: not that they are accurate, complete, current, free of error or suitable for your purpose, not that they agree with any law, regulation, standard or contract, and not that following or completing them will prevent loss, fraud, error or a breach of any rule.

5. Law and rules change

Statements about laws, regulations, standards, payment schemes and bank practice are a snapshot as of the date shown in each file. Some were still changing on that date and are marked “check”. They may be incomplete, misunderstood or out of date by the time you read them. I am under no obligation to update the files or to tell you that a newer version exists. The EU and US editions are for orientation only. They do not say that any law applies to you, and rules in other places differ.

6. Your responsibility

You alone are responsible for how you use the files and for everything that follows from it: your decisions, your accounts and money, your AI agent and what it does, the controls you adopt or leave out, your compliance, the people you involve, and anything you rely on. If you complete a document from these files, what it says is yours.

7. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the files, from relying on them, or from being unable to use them. That covers loss of money or funds, loss of profit, fines and penalties, loss of data, damage to reputation, and indirect or consequential loss, whether the claim is in contract, in tort or otherwise. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for intent or fraudulent concealment, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product-liability rules. Where the law allows liability for something provided free of charge to be limited to intent and gross negligence, that is the limit.

8. Other people’s standards, names and sources

Laws, standards, payment schemes and bodies (for example NIST, the CFPB, Nacha and the EU institutions) are named only to say what is being discussed. I am not affiliated with them, and they have not reviewed or endorsed these files. Standards are protected by their owners’ copyright and none of their text is reproduced. Links lead to sites I do not control, and I am not responsible for what is on them.

9. Licence

You may use, copy, adapt and share the files for yourself or inside your organisation, including in your own business. Keep the nullfte.com credit and this notice, and mark what you changed. Do not present your version as written, reviewed or endorsed by me, and do not sell the files as they are. All other rights stay with me, and the licence does not cover third-party material that is named in the files. I may change or withdraw the files at any time; the licence for a copy you already have stays. The AI agent machine hardening guide is the exception: it has its own licence, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0), printed in the guide, and that licence applies to it instead of this clause.

10. Privacy

Downloading needs no account. What the site records is described in the privacy notice at nullfte.com/privacy/.

11. Applicable law, and parts that fail

German law applies to the extent the law allows. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live stay unaffected. If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.

12. Who is responsible for the content

The publisher and the person responsible for the content are named in the legal notice at nullfte.com/legal/.
