Authority
Working definition
What an agent may decide or do on its own, written down before it starts, with the point where it must stop and ask.
How I use it. I separate what it may see, propose, decide and do in other systems; a permission to see is not a permission to act.
Not to be confused with
- Capability: what the agent is technically able to do; it can be wider than its authority.
- Responsibility: the result it owes, not what it may do to get there.
Example. The finance agent may suggest payments. It may not make them.
