The line
Working definition
The point in each job where the agent stops and a person takes over. So far, in every job in my company: the agent drafts, proposes, builds and checks; a person sends, pays and talks to people.
Not to be confused with
- Authority: what an agent may do in one job; the line is the pattern across all of them.
Example. The finance agent matches payments to bills in our books, but the software it works through has no way to pay or to send anything to a customer. I do both. If it ever could, the line would have moved.
